About My Clients
If you are habitually worried or pessimistic, overthinking, disconnected from your body, concerned about what others are thinking while letting your own needs go by the wayside, still searching for meaning, you are not alone and there is hope. Let's talk.
My Background and Approach
My background is in both individual and family therapy. While working with individual clients, my family systems approach will still shine through, and I often end up working through relational issues with clients, as well as the concern they first came to seek support around. I have provided clinical services to those living through domestic violence, substance use, gender/identity issues, developmental and socializing issues, self-harming and suicidal ideation, and more. I'm a strengths-based, humanistic therapist. Eclectic in my approach, I will adjust according to what you bring to our meetings and what you are looking for, both in the longterm treatment planning and in each session. In both family and individual work, I will meet you in the hardest, darkest places. I will encourage you to cultivate the love and the hope that is already there. I have always found solace in creativity and I will incorporate art and writing into sessions, according to your interest.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in the power of language and stories. What we tell ourselves, the words we use to describe ourselves are all part our reality. I'm an avid reader, sometimes fiction-writer, and inconsistent journal writer. I've written letters to myself at tough junctions in my life and I encourage my clients to do the same. I'm a cheerleader for rest and tenderness, but still fighting off the insidious whispers of capitalism that tell us we should always be producing something.
