About My Clients
Whether you have recently experienced grief, have a new diagnosis, or are facing a life transition, I am excited to work with you to create a life worth living. I offer individual mental health therapy, miscarriage/stillbirth support for couples, and therapy services for newly-diagnosed neurodivergent people (autism, ADHD, etc.).
My Background and Approach
I am trained as a social worker and a couples & family therapist. As a collaborative, feminist therapist, I believe that to be a good therapist, I have to balance understanding the person in their environment and social justice. I have specialized training in religious trauma/Adverse Religious Experiences, grief and loss, and working with neurodivergent clients. During our first appointment, we will discuss your background and goals for therapy. I use techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy to help people build concrete skills to manage emotions and boundaries with others. I will help you understand what happens in your brain and body when you experience intense emotions, so that you can develop new understandings and skills to address stressors when they arise.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I started my social services career working with refugees and asylum seekers in the U.K., and transitioned to working with people who had experienced intimate partner violence when I returned to the U.S. For the past twelve years, I have devoted my professional and academic life to working with people with intellectual or developmental disabilities, autism, and ADHD.
