About My Clients
Many of the couples and individuals who I work with are looking for new ways of handling stress in their lives, are working to heal from difficult early experiences, or are seeking to improve their intimate relationships. As your therapist, I can help you experience new ways of relating to yourself and to your loved ones.
My Background and Approach
When helping partners build a secure bond, I practice Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). Emotionally Focused Therapy is a powerful and research-backed method of helping people in relationships move from separateness to deep emotional connection. I am trained in Sensorimotor Psychotherapy, which invites us to observe the physical sensations that make up our experiences in addition to our thoughts and feelings. Sensorimotor Psychotherapy is a gentle yet effective way of healing from trauma.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Throughout our lives we develop patterns that serve an important protective purpose at the time, but years later may no longer serve us or even leave us feeling trapped. I believe that therapy is a place to observe these stuck patterns with curiosity, heal old wounds, and experiment with new ways of relating to ourselves and others. I deeply enjoy helping people see themselves in a new light and experience increased wellbeing in their relationships.
