About My Clients
I have extensive experience working with adolescents and adults around mental health issues, school concerns, relational challenges, the effects of socialization on identity, and the complicated concerns that are present during transitions, including during times of crisis. Additionally, I specialize in treating issues specific to gender identity and sexuality. I also specialize in sports performance.
My Background and Approach
Life’s emotional journey does not always offer us a clear path to follow. As we navigate the unique challenges of our paths, sometimes we become unsteady in our decisions or relationships. As we search for improved well-being, sometimes it helps to recognize that we can enact change in our lives. And as we begin to choose our own way, we learn that we can manage stressors and reduce suffering. With gentleness and compassion, we will co-construct an affirming, inclusive, and accepting therapeutic relationship. I strive to find the shared lived experience to promote and sustain meaningful advances in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a member of the LGBTQ+ community who engages in activism for queer youth in and around my community. I believe that all people matter while simultaneously recognizing that marginalized communities deserve to be heard and validated. I believe that what helps people to heal is being "present, patient, gentle, kind, and true." Before becoming a mental health counselor, I was an elite athlete, and I am still passionate about all things sporting. What matters most to me is my family and actively pursuing equal rights and opportunities for all.
