If you're looking to overcome negative emotions and shame, manage stress and anxiety, find clarity, and/or mend and build relationships in a welcoming, safe, and non-judgmental space, let's connect! I offer a free, 20-minute telehealth consultation to see if we're a great fit!
My Background and Approach
I have a M.Ed. and am currently a M.A. candidate in Couple and Family Therapy and clinical intern. I am also working on a sex therapy certificate in order to serve clients of all sexual orientations and identities in a sex-positive way. It is my work over the past 25 years that has led me to the therapy profession. I am a former high school educator, and more recently, have served as a support professional for couples and families bringing home a new baby (or babies). I’ve been told by my clients that I have a knack for helping them feel calm and at ease. I owe this to the many clients and families who have entrusted me to be part of their journey at such an intimate moment in their lives. Being present for families and individuals through the ups and downs of life’s transitions has afforded me the opportunity to hone my skills as a non-judgmental listener and collaborative guide. These are skills that I bring to you in the therapy room.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
It was as a therapy client myself that I came to appreciate the importance of feeling heard, understood, and supported through difficult moments. It is in our human nature to thrive with healthy human connection, yet sometimes relationships can be fraught with tension and pain. Family, cultural, and societal expectations don’t always line up with our deepest needs and it can be difficult to navigate how to express and live as our authentic selves. Other times, we simply feel stuck, and at the same time moved, to process experiences and emotions. Whatever inspires you to seek therapy, there is someone who genuinely cares and wants to be there for you. I would be honored to discuss the possibility of working together. I volunteer for a social justice film festival and a national LGBTQIA+ organization.
