About My Clients
I provide mental health counseling for adolescents and adults.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University and a Bachelor of Science degree (B.S.) in Human Resource Management from Wright State University. I am a Mending the Soul Certified Facilitator for women’s abuse and trauma recovery small groups. I am a member of the American Psychological Association. Some of the coursework I have completed includes Assessment and Appraisal, Human Development, Career Development, Addictions, Attachment Theory, Eating Disorders, Adult Assessment and Trauma and Loss. In addition, I completed two internships in college student mental health counseling centers where I counseled adolescents and young adults. I also worked for two years conducting pediatric and adult neuropsychological testing in the psychology department at a rehabilitation hospital.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I provide professional mental health counseling services to children, adolescents and adults. I approach counseling as a joint relationship in which you, as the client, and I collaborate together in a supportive, safe environment. My belief is that all clients have unique insight and ability to improve their own lives but may need help identifying strengths and developing skills that support healing, healthy decision making, relationships and steps towards positive growth. I personally operate from a Christian worldview and am willing to incorporate this into counseling if indicated by you.
