About My Clients

Feel like you are in an exhaustive pattern of being misunderstood, undervalued, and overwhelmed? Does it seem like no matter how well you are doing in one area of your life, the others are a hot mess? Well, let's talk about it! The SHIFT Mental Wellness, PLLC prioritizes Black mental health through empowering high-achieving women of the African Diaspora and provide a space of freedom to transform, heal, grow, and cultivate harmony and abundance to thrive!

My Background and Approach

As a mental health practitioner with over 12 years of experience in business, human resources development and counseling, I have been privileged to work with teens and adults to help improve their quality of life. I am driven by total wellness of mind, body, and spirit and deliver transformational and culturally affirming therapy to manage issues such as anxiety, depression, mood changes, imposter syndrome, racial based stress, transgenerational trauma and relationship conflicts. This is possible through the most progressive person-focused cognitive behavioral treatments. You will experience experience a mindset shift in how you view the world and your place in it, learn to manage stress and embrace change, implement intentional and radical forms of self-care, and cultivate harmony in all areas of you life to thrive as a C-Suite exec, business owner, corporate baddie, healthcare provider, educator, leader, partner, parent, student, creative, athlete, or community member.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Oftentimes, Black/African American women who seem to be "smashing it" professionally and socially are not allowed the space to express or even acknowledge emotions. Not only are we bombarded by microaggressions and misogyny, but we are also told anecdotes such as "never let them see you sweat" or "you're a Strong Black Woman". While well-meaning, these phrases can create a destructive narrative that our thoughts and feelings don't matter and should be ignored. Being the "strong friend" has a negative impact on our physical, emotional, and spiritual health. I can personally attest to this in my former "corporate era". Through my own self-work and journey, I realized my purpose was to help other women to make a shift and provide a safe space to reconnect with their emotional body and transform into the fulfilled woman they seek to become.
