About My Clients
My ideal client is a teen or adult who is feeling overwhelmed by life’s challenges—whether it’s anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, addiction, or difficulty managing emotions and relationships. They may appear high-functioning on the outside but are struggling internally with feeling stuck, misunderstood, or exhausted by the demands of daily life. They’re ready for change, open to self-reflection, and looking for a safe, nonjudgmental space to heal, grow, and develop healthier ways of coping.
My Background and Approach
As a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor, I am licensed in Virginia, Maryland, Florida, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and the District of Columbia. With over 20 years of experience, I provide compassionate and effective counseling for teens and adults. I specialize in treating depression, anxiety, ADHD, trauma, addiction, emotional regulation, relationship challenges, and life transitions. My approach is personalized and integrative, drawing from evidence-based methods such as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), and Attachment-based techniques. Together, we’ll work toward building insight, resilience, and lasting change.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe therapy is a courageous step toward healing, self-discovery, and lasting change. At its core, I view therapy as a collaborative relationship—one built on trust, authenticity, and compassion. I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, I believe each person’s journey is unique, shaped by their lived experiences, culture, values, and strengths. I believe in meeting people where they are—emotionally, mentally, and spiritually—and walking alongside them as they navigate life’s complexities. Whether you’re managing anxiety, recovering from trauma, breaking unhealthy patterns, or simply feeling lost, I believe that change is always possible with the right support.
