About My Clients
Every reason for beginning or continuing therapy is a good one but they often do not fit inclusively on a list. I am always open to having a discussion about those reasons and exploring how I can partner with you on your path or guide you in the direction that I believe will be the best fit for your needs.
My Background and Approach
I have been practicing therapy for 12 years but have been in the field of social work since 2000. My professional experience includes work in child welfare, treatment foster care, adoption, parenting concerns, substance use, domestic violence, trauma, anxiety, LGBTQIA, and life transitions. I use an eclectic approach choosing concepts from different therapeutic modalities that are best suited for each individual person and concern. I believe that building strong therapeutic relationships is the foundation to creating a safe space to do the work of therapy. Each session we spend together may have a different focus but my intention is for you to feel heard and understood every time we meet. There are many roads that lead to beginning or continuing in therapy and no one person's story is the same. Just know that, no matter how difficult or scary it may seem to begin for the first time or start again, it is just a conversation between two people.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have been working actively in the social work community for the past 23 years. I continue to feel honored every time someone invites me to walk with them on their path. Every person deserves to be treated with kindness and respect and I look forward to each opportunity to listen, to learn, and to grow together with someone. Change is possible, it starts with turning one small "stone". When I am not working I enjoy spending time with my family on our small hobby farm or reading a good book on the porch.
