About My Clients
Do you feel weighed down by past experiences that keep resurfacing? Are anxiety and depression making everyday life feel overwhelming? Maybe you've tried to "just get over it," but find yourself stuck in patterns you can't seem to break. You might be navigating a major life transition or struggling with self-doubt that holds you back from living fully. You're looking for more than just coping strategies - you want deep, lasting healing that helps you feel whole and connected to yourself again.
My Background and Approach
With 20 years of clinical experience and specialized training in EMDR and Internal Family Systems therapy, I offer a unique integrated approach that helps you heal trauma at its roots, not just manage symptoms. My integration of IFS-informed EMDR means we work with all parts of you compassionately while processing difficult experiences. This combination often leads to faster, more complete healing than traditional talk therapy alone. I also offer sandtray therapy, giving you a creative, non-verbal way to express and process what words can't capture. In my comfortable home office, you'll experience a warm, welcoming environment where healing happens naturally. My commitment to continuing education and diverse therapeutic approaches (including CBT) means you receive cutting-edge, personalized care that addresses your unique needs and goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that each of us has a core self that is undamaged by all of the hurt we sustain throughout our lives; therapy removes blockages that inhibit healing so that we can return to wholeness. My first experience as a therapy client was very traumatic. A wounded, abandoned child part of me emerged, and my therapist didn't give me adequate tools to help the adult part of me to take care of her. I don't ever want you to have to go through what I did, so I will help you to develop effective resources to enable all parts of you to feel safe. Speaking of safe...I believe we all have a right to feel safe in our own skins. I am a fierce advocate for all who have been made to feel broken, "less than" or "other." I remember, in grad school, giving a fervent rebuttal to someone who mentioned reparative therapy. When I told my acupuncturist the story the next day, she felt the anger in my pulses! I am passionately anti-racist, and deeply committed to creating unity rather than division.
