About My Clients
Your child is struggling with “big feelings” of sadness, anxiety, or anger, and though you’ve tried everything you know, it doesn’t seem to help. You can’t help getting frustrated sometimes, but you know it’s not his fault - he’s gone through so much in his short life. And yet it’s leaving you wondering if you’re cut out for this parenting job. Everyone says you’re strong, but when your kid is struggling, you feel like you’re failing.
My Background and Approach
I work with parents and children to improve their relationships and create more peaceful homes. I use art, play, and fun activities to help make a meaningful connection with your child, and work closely with you to help support your parenting efforts. I have more than ten years of experience working in the mental health field, and I specialize in parenting, trauma, adoption, foster care, grief/loss, ADHD, behavioral issues, intergenerational trauma, and life transitions. I am rostered in Child Parent Psychotherapy (CPP). I am also trained in TF-CBT, Motivational Interviewing, Theraplay, play based techniques and Solution Focused work. I have experience working with infants, children, adolescents, and adults. I have a strong passion for working in the areas of infant and perinatal mental health.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a strong advocate for social and racial equity, and am continually learning to understand my privilege and practice cultural humility.
