I have worked with couples and families extensively for 5 years. Each couple and family have unique issues, taking time to understand these issues and help the individual's work through the issues so that they can rejoin the family/couple relationship again is an essential part to make the family/couple successful again.
I have completed trauma informed training, and have worked for over 10 years with complex trauma issues including intimate partner rape, incest, rape, child molestation, and sexual assault.
I have completed training in CBT, DBT, and Brief Solution Focused Therapy, all of these can be helpful for anxiety issues. I have worked with clients for over 10 years that have dealt with OCD, anxiety disorders, panic disorders, and phobias, as well as general stress and worry.
I have completed formal training for Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and used this for 8 years to help individuals with depression, substance use, eating disorders, bi-polar, borderline personality disorder, complex traumas and post-traumatic stress disorder by assisting them in skills training to increase mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness.
I have been formally trained in Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy and used this for 10 years to treat individuals with anxiety disorders, depression, and bi-polar disorders effectively by helping individuals to see that having a deeper understanding of our thoughts and feeling patterns can help us create new more effective patterns.
I been formally trained in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and used this for 10 years to help treat individuals with major depressive disorder, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, OCD, and many other diagnosis by assisting individuals to recognize negative emotions, behaviors, and thoughts that have been formed by irrational core beliefs and replace the negative emotions, behaviors, beliefs and thoughts through strategies and challenges that are healthy.
