About My Clients
Finding a therapist is one of the most important relationships you'll form, so you need to find one that "fits" with you. My clients appreciate my plain speaking, straight-to-the-point manner while I challenge false narratives and support them with unconditional positive regard. My ideal clients are willing to do the work to understand and accept their past, recognize how the past is affecting the present, and are willing to adapt to create a better future for themselves.
My Background and Approach
Peace, contentment, healing, and self-love are possible. Let me help you on your journey to living life as your most authentic, truest self by using our time together to holistically approach the issues you seek to resolve. Each client is unique, and I strive to give each person I work with what they need in our hour together. I use talk therapy, mindfulness, relaxation exercises, as well as cognitive processing to help make order of emotional disarray. If you want to lessen the emotional burden of your history, heal emotional wounds, and function in a way that is healthy and allows you to work towards your desired future, I am here to help. Finding a therapist that you feel safe with is a process, and I invite you to meet with me so that we can assess if I am a good fit for you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe anyone is capable of change if they desire it. I was raised Catholic, but I am agnostic. I am a feminist and not a misandrist. I support the demilitarization of police forces across the country, but I am not anti-police. I support BLM, the LGBTQI community, & #metoo. I work with first responders as well as offenders. I have personal experience with addiction (clean for over 10 years!) fueled by the over-prescribing of medications and I support the harm reduction model of addictions & healing. I support medical marijuana. I strive to be a culturally competent therapist for any human who sit on my couch (virtually or in-person).
