About My Clients
I enjoy working with children ages 3-12 who are struggling with difficult problems, big behaviors and intense emotions. Whether that's in my groups, my SPARK program (intensive out patient) or through 1:1 intensives - my clients find a safe space in my office.
My Background and Approach
I draw from evidenced based modailites. I have completed TAC (72 hour evidenced based training for adoption competency) and have extensive experience working with foster&adoptive youth, which includes trauma & attachment challenges. I am EMDR certified, and DBT rostered, using both modailities during my intensives with families. I'm also trained in Safe and Sound Protocol.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am fascinated with how the brain works and how the body and nervous system reacts to day-to-day experiences. I want the kids I work with to build coping skills specific to them, and their experiences. I draw from the neuroscience and polyvagal framework and applies it to my therapeutic process. This means, I want parents to understand what's happening in their kids' brains/bodies so they can understand and connect on a diffrent level. I believe in neuroplasticity, or the brain’s ability to form new neural connections and heal from traumas, learn new skills, and make positive changes. When working with clients I firmly believe that they are capable of feeling better. I do not give up on kids.
