About My Clients
I work with couples who are experiencing relational disconnection, diminished intimacy, and frustrated communication. I seek to provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space in which to collaboratively identify and explore non-useful relational patterns and to practice skills that generate more kind, connected, trusting, and empowered ways of being with ourselves and one another.
My Background and Approach
As a Marriage and Family Therapist, my clinical focus is couples therapy and relational work. Our relationships are the foundation of our very lives: we can't understand ourselves without understanding how we nourish–or neglect to nourish–ourselves and one another. When we're disconnected from one another, we suffer. Seeking therapy is an act of courage and kindness: it honors our relationship with self and others by inviting meaningful, positive change. I work holistically from a systemic perspective, seeking to explore the dimensions of your history and experience; how these inform your sense of self and way of being; and how current patterns of thinking and behavior may affect your relationship with yourself and others. Together, we'll identify the possibility, purpose, and practices of alternative ways of being. The principles of mindfulness undergird our work: present-moment awareness, non-judgment, kindness, patience, gratitude, acceptance, trust, curiosity, and humor.
