About My Clients
Do you want to feel connected and seen, but feel scared or hesitant to let someone in? Many of us have been hurt and invalidated, by family, by friends and maybe even by past therapists which can make it hard to feel safe in relationships and want to open up. I specialize in working with people who are highly sensitive and/or those who have felt a sense of otherness due to an experience or marginalized identity.
My Background and Approach
My style combines elements of empathy, creativity, occasional humor, and directness. I focus on strengths and use motivational interviewing to enhance one’s intrinsic motivation and confidence. Therapy is a place to work through relational muck, both intrapersonally and interpersonally, that got stuck on us from the past that we no longer need in the same way we did. Through an IFS-informed approach, I help folks connect with their inner sense of trust and compassion.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we all have multiple parts of ourselves and healing happens when we can integrate, accept and love all of our parts. I believe everyone has biases and that people are experts on themselves more than anyone with fancy titles or credentials can be. I believe in the power of vulnerability and I believe in the importance of boundaries. I believe in humility being essential to being an ethical therapist. I believe in therapy. I believe in you.
