I provide warmth and humor, and will totally ask you about your family of origin. The best stuff is usually hiding just under the surface.

Identifying as female in our culture comes with so many landmines. Navigating relationships, work/life balance, parenting, misogyny, and so on. If you've clicked on this specialty, you know. I like to work from an feminist perspective to see how gender underlies other stressors. Feminism is intersectional, and if you identify as female (or on the feminine side of the spectrum) this space is for you.
Mental health doesn't exist in a vacuum. All parts of who you are as a person can affect (and be affected by) your mental state. I encourage people to examine what they notice in their mind, heart, body, and all different aspects of their life. This allows us to feel more whole as human beings, and can improve our relationships with all different pieces of our lives.
Humanistic, or 'person-centered,' therapy focuses on helping you recognize your worth and value as a person. Using this type of therapy, I emphasize that you're the expert on your own experience, and that I'm here as a tool to help you identify what will work best for you. It encourages acceptance of yourself, just as you are, while also bringing about freedom to enact change.
