About My Clients
I may be the right fit for you if you if you've had a difficult relationship with a parent or caregiver, if your current relationships are filled with stress and uncertainty, if you are looking for a more solid sense of identity and meaning in your life. My areas of speciality include trauma, depression, anxiety, and relational issues. Together we can work to create a safe space for you to explore your past, heal and release in the present, and look forward to the future.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is based on an understanding of trauma, attachment, social justice, and client empowerment and grounded in these theories: psychodynamic, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), and mindfulness. In our work together, we will collaborate to assist you in building insight into your emotions, behaviors, symptoms, strengths, and challenging relationship patterns, so that you can learn to understand and ‘diagnose’ your own experiences, identify and implement appropriate coping strategies, and in effect ‘become your own therapist’ by the end of our treatment together. While you may be struggling at the moment, I believe you are the ultimate expert about what you need to heal your current distress. By creating a safe space where you can let your defenses down, I can help you determine what these needs are and make steps toward meeting them.
