About My Clients
In a world that often applauds achievement, people navigating the realms of success and high expectations, whether from themselves or external sources, may find themselves grappling with the silent struggles of anxiety, depression, perfectionism and low self-esteem. It may appear like you have it all together but what people can't see are the internal battles, unpleasant emotions and exhaustion you feel. If you want to feel empowered and more knowledgeable about yourself, I'd love to be a guide.
My Background and Approach
I enjoy working with individuals experiencing anxiety, perfectionism, depression, low self-worth, grief (especially for pets) and relationship issues. Many clients desire a safe space to feel seen and heard while gaining life-changing skills that have can have an immediate impact. I hope to make therapy an experience you'll look forward to. I provide insight, encouragement and skills to help you gain awareness into unhelpful thought patterns, address uncomfortable emotions and challenge behaviors that hold you back from achieving your goals. My practice is based on empathy, collaboration and problem-solving. I am non-judgmental , down to earth and enjoy a sense humor. I have worked in a variety of therapy settings including inpatient, outpatient, intensive outpatient and EAP before pursuing Calm Solutions Therapy, LLC as my private practice.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe everyone is doing their best with what they have in the moment. There are so many parts to our mental health and for many of us, we weren't taught how to effectively cope with our emotions, thoughts and unhelpful behaviors. Things and circumstances that have happened to us are not necessarily our fault AND it is our responsibility to choose the next best step for what we want ourselves and for our lives to be about. Outside of the virtual therapy room, I love being in nature; from taking walks in the neighborhood to being in the mountains and snowboarding. I adore animals and volunteer at a local dog rescue which is incredibly meaningful and connecting to the community. I have a fur child named Pippy who I love dearly and who often likes to make an appearance for therapy sessions.
