Accepting Clients

Welcome! I am a therapist specializing in trauma, perinatal mental health and supporting parents of neurodivergent kids.

Clinical Social Worker in Durham, NC

About My Clients

Is your parenting or postpartum journey different than you expected? Were you on a clear path and suddenly everything changed? Are you struggling to cope in these unprecedented times? You are not alone and I’m here for the real, honest conversations. Through a combination of processing , EMDR and somatic tools I can help you grieve, grow and find peace. I especially enjoy working with fellow parents and mothers including those with neurospicy kids. I am PDA aware and neurodiversity affirming.

My Background and Approach

My style in therapy is creative and warm. I have 9 years of clinical experience, and speak both Spanish and English. As a therapist I listen deeply and help you explore your own inner knowledge about what you need. I use EMDR as a tool to help clients process events and feel better about themselves. I am a yoga teacher and music therapist and enjoy integrating these tools when clients are interested. In therapy you will gain space to process and learn from your life experiences, as well as practice tools to feel better in your daily life.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Life is a winding journey that's for sure. I believe we are all grieving, all the time, and part of therapy with me is naming that and accepting it in as part of your human experience. I also believe we are living in a time of chronic stress and collective trauma, and our nervous systems deserve all the tenderness and care possible during this stressful time in our world. I believe parenting is incredibly hard (and rewarding, sometimes haha!) and that all parents need and deserve a space to process and be real. I have a neurodivergent child, and I am passionate about providing support to parents of the neurospicy kids. I am a part of the LGBTQ community and I am affirming of all sexualities, gender identities and relationships. I strive to be anti-racist and against all forms of oppression, which means I welcome feedback and consider myself a lifelong learner. I am trauma sensitive, which means I prioritize consent, choice, emotional safety and healing at your own pace.
