After a loved one's life has changed due to a diagnosis, injury or disability - it changes the whole family. Each family has their own flow, and when that is interrupted, the family can struggle to get back on track. I help families get back on their feet by exploring old family patterns that were disrupted, helping families create and understand healthy boundaries for success, and increasing their healthy communication skills.

Navigating the world after acquiring a brain injury is no easy process. Everything about the way that you feel to the new life-style accommodations can flip your world upside down. I help my client's process their new challenges, and act as a teammate to create a new plan for success while adapting to their new needs.

I have thousands of hands on experience working in exercise-based rehabilitation centers with people living with all different types of physical disabilities. From Spinal cord injury, multiple sclerosis, to cerebral palsy --- I deeply understand the physical and emotional barriers of someone living with a physical disability. This community was the inspiration for me going back to school and becoming a mental health clinician.

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, much of my studies have been from the perspective of "how do our relationships impact our emotional and social wellbeing?" One of the most popular perspectives on relationships is attachment theory; how does your earliest childhood experiences of being attached to your caregiver have an impact on your relationships today? I use attachment theory to provide insight into people's relationships with themselves and others.

You can't go through a major traumatic, life changing event with out thinking about life's greatest questions; whats my purpose? Why are we here? What is the meaning of life? When I was once a client and attended my own personal therapy, I had to come face to face with these questions. Today, I love deep diving with my clients to find greater meaning and purpose.

Where there is a thought, there is a feeling and then a response. Specifically my clients who are battling with anxiety and depression, my favorite tool to use is Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. It is important to understand how our thoughts influence our emotions and behaviors, and just by simply changing a thought, you can change your whole experience. Many of my clients don't realize that one bad thought is ruining their whole world. CBT helps me bring my clients into awareness for change.
