About My Clients
Does your child tell you that you can't possibly understand them? Are you a mom who is trying to figure out life post-partum? Are you feeling hopeless or worried about the future? Life can be so hard to navigate, especially in the climate the world is in today. I don't want you or your child to struggle anymore. By teaching techniques to help manage life's changes, whether it's adjusting to college or a new baby, I look forward to working with you along the way.
My Background and Approach
I have been working in the field of mental health for about eight years. I received my master's degree from Temple University in Clinical Social Work and have a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Eastern University. My career began working with children and adolescents on the Autism Spectrum, and then moved to working with children and teens who were in the foster care system. I then worked as a social worker in a psychiatric hospital, and now am in world of outpatient mental health. I mainly work with individuals and families and utilize many techniques in my practice, such as being in the here and now and focusing on solutions. I believe that within each individual lies the ability to change and grow. I feel it is important to build an open and collaborative relationship between client and therapist. By doing this, you'll be able to gain insight into what bothers you and how to better cope with those feelings.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that more awareness needs to be made regarding mental health issues and that we should be able to talk about it more freely without judgement. Everyone deserves to have a voice and to have their feelings acknowledged and validated. I support Black Lives Matter and am involved in my local community's racial diversity group. I am a Christian, and believe that we should treat others like we would want to be treated. Actually, I believe we should treat others better than when we want to be treated. If you don't believe in God, that's ok! I support all religious beliefs. I am married and have two children and a Border Collie. I enjoy musical theater, watching movies, and am down to eat ice cream any day of the year.
