About My Clients
You became a mother and somewhere in the process, you may have lost a bit of yourself. Maybe you're expecting and already feeling the weight of change. Maybe you're in the thick of it and wondering why no one told you it could feel like this. I support women through anxiety, depression, identity shifts, and emotional complexity that can come with motherhood.
My Background and Approach
My approach is warm, collaborative, and holistic. I utilize therapy modalities such as motivation interviewing, humanistic therapy, and person centered therapy. In our work together, I draw on evidence-based practices alongside traditional wisdom to meet you as a whole person, not a list of symptoms. When we begin, you can expect a thorough assessment, a collaborative process of setting meaningful goals, and a consistent, empathetic presence every step along the way. I have a master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a certificate in Addiction Counseling. I have a bachelor's degree in Psychology. I have worked in a variety of settings including private practice, community mental health, in-home mental health, in-patient substance abuse treatment, outpatient/medication assisted substance abuse treatment, and domestic violence shelters.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I focus my energy on supporting mothers because I believe that mothers deserve far more care than they typically receive in our culture. Mothers deserve to be seen, held, and treated with respect as they navigate the major life transformation that is becoming a mother. On a deeper level, I believe that supporting mothers is key in creating thriving communities and families. When mothers are supported, nourished, and well, their energy ripples out to their children, families, community and the world at large. If we want a better world ( and I know we all do) supporting mothers is vital.
