About My Clients
You feel all alone; from the outside it may look like you're doing ok, but inside you feel worried and sad, stressed and on edge. Why does life feel so confusing? You're trying so hard to manage all the different roles in your life: partner, friend, mother, daughter, worker and you feel you can only give each the bare minimum. You want to figure out how to be yourself, have loving connected relationships, and navigate life's big and little transitions with a sense of intention and balance.
My Background and Approach
DOES YOUR BODY GET TENSE AND TIGHT WHEN YOU ARE WORRIED, OR SHAKY WHEN STRESSED? Our bodies are often the first communicators of upset and discomfort, if we know to listen to them. I believe that by focusing on ourselves as full body beings, with a broad range of experience that lives in hands, heart, gut, legs, face and head that we are able to come to know more deeply who we are and how we shape ourselves. This leads to greater self compassion, more empowerment and choice, and increased wellness and life satisfaction. As a somatic psychotherapist, I value the communications and experience of the body equally alongside mental and intellectual experience. I integrate various models into my work including but not limited to Interpersonal Neurobiology, Formative Psychology, Psychodynamic and Attachment theories, Emotionally Focused Therapy and other somatic modalities.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe we each are born as unqiue selves that have value. Our inner strengths and resources, are often just waiting for us to find them; with support we can access and develop capacity and great resilience. I believe each person deserves attention, care, and respect, and that helping women come into a connected, empowered, personal identity is an honor and a calling for me.
