Accepting Clients

Hi, I’m Jenesis Vasquez, a bilingual Licensed Mental Health Counselor providing therapy in English and Spanish across Florida.

Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in Fort Myers, FL

About My Clients

Do you feel stuck in cycles with food, body image, or feeling out of control around eating? I specialize in eating disorders and body image concerns for children, adolescents, and adults. I also support anxiety, trauma, emotional dysregulation, ADHD, autism, OCD, depression, and borderline personality disorder. I use an integrative approach and provide a warm, trauma-informed space where you can feel safe, understood, and supported while building a life towards recovery.

My Background and Approach

My approach is integrative, trauma-informed, and tailored to each client’s unique needs. I draw from evidence-based modalities including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Trauma-Focused CBT (TF-CBT), Motivational Interviewing, and strengths-based and mindfulness-based interventions. I also incorporate skills from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused therapy, and psychoeducation to help clients build practical tools they can use in daily life. My goal is for you to leave sessions with strategies you can use outside of therapy to manage emotions, reduce distress, and navigate triggers related to food, body image, anxiety, or trauma. I specialize in eating disorders and body image concerns, and understand how consuming and exhausting these struggles can feel. We work collaboratively to identify what is maintaining the cycle and build healthier, more sustainable coping skills and self-understanding.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that healing is possible for everyone, even when it feels out of reach. People are not defined by their symptoms, diagnoses, or past experiences. These are often adaptations to pain, stress, and survival. With the right support, insight, and tools, it is possible to unlearn unhelpful patterns and build healthier ways of coping, relating, and living. I believe therapy should feel safe, collaborative, and empowering. My role is not to fix you, but to walk alongside you while we explore what is getting in the way of the life you want and help you build skills to move through it. Change happens through both understanding and practice, which is why I focus on helping clients develop practical tools they can use in real life. I also believe that eating disorders, trauma responses, and emotional struggles require compassion rather than judgment. Recovery is not linear and every small step matters.
