About My Clients
I enjoy helping clients explore their life story and establish connections from their past with their current behavioral patterns. As we go through life, we often receive messages that having certain emotions are bad. When we experience hurt, rejection and/or abandonment especially as a result of trauma we often become overly focused on finding ways to prevent ourselves from experiencing pain. This often comes at a cost which can then often compound the pain we are feeling.
My Background and Approach
I use an integrative approach to psychotherapy. Primarily using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. The guidance and support I can provide is important but you are the expert on your own lives. My experience and passion for helping others will help us form a meaningful therapeutic relationship which is critical for your transformation. I believe in a strength based holistic approach to therapy. The goals that we will make and work on together will let us know that we're moving in the right direction. As your confidence grows and you begin to use a new set of coping skills you will see change.I strive to provide an environment that is supportive and culturally appropriate.
