About My Clients
My clients primarily identify as 2SLGBTQIA+ and/or practice alternative relationship orientations such as open relationships/polyamory. Additionally, my clients often bring issues related to their sexuality and/or spirituality.
My Background and Approach
My therapeutic approach is informed by the integration of my graduate studies in both the arts and sciences. I wholeheartedly respect the autonomy and divinity of every client who works with me. I consider the individual within a systemic framework -- people are entangled in many systems that affect their well-being. I enjoy collaborating with clients on re-authoring the stories that no longer work for them and I encourage contemplation of their innermost selves. I have training in the Hakomi method, a somatic mindfulness intervention that creates a space of consciousness exploration. I also enjoy working with dreams and encourage creative expression as part of the therapeutic process.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
The etymology of "psyche" refers to the soul and I believe that psychotherapy is soul work. This is a responsibility I do not take lightly. I believe in the power of recreating our relational stories to align with our values. I believe love is a liberatory practice. I believe that we can create relationships that in which we feel truly and deeply heard, seen, and loved. I don't believe that my role as a relationship therapist is to ensure that partners remain together. My role is to support each individual's journey into love whether that journey means remaining together or separating.
