About My Clients
You know how to make it happen – you work hard, you show up for the people you care about, and you do your best to never let anyone down. On the surface, it seems like your life is going great. On the inside, your insides squirm with fears that you're not doing enough, not good enough, and that it's only a matter of time before everyone else sees it too. You feel disconnected, exhausted, overwhelmed, and anxious.
My Background and Approach
Therapy is about two humans sitting down together to talk about and work through the hard stuff. My goal as a therapist is to help you reconnect with yourself and tap into your inner wisdom. Only you know what is best for you, my job is to help you remember how to listen to yourself. We'll dig deep and start identifying the root causes of what's going on and develop skills/strategies to start finding more immediate relief today. I’ll be up front with you: therapy can be hard work and sometimes I'm going to challenge you! I'll bring my perspective, training, experience, and empathy. You bring honesty and openness. Together, we'll work to cultivate the insight, self-compassion, and confidence you need to start making meaningful changes in your life. Therapy isn't just talking, it's about the quality of the therapeutic relationship, the dynamic between us, and the space to practice assertive and effective communication.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a white, able-bodied, heterosexual, midsized, cisgender female, I commit to continually be aware of the privilege I have been afforded based on the cultural identities I hold and to understanding the marginalization that people of other identities encounter that impact their wellbeing and mental health. You can expect in our work together that you can talk openly about your race, ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual orientation, ability status, size, or any identity that is important to understanding you and your experience. I fully embrace providing high quality and multiculturally sensitive services that affirm the dignity, worth and value of all individuals.
