My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling with you is from a personal, holistic, viewpoint in hopes of better understanding your world. I believe in promoting your right to autonomy, self-acceptance, and to feel genuine in your experiences and connections with others. My hope as a counselor is to meet you where you are, and to provide support for your journey. I believe there is power in the unconditional support a counseling relationship can provide. I use a variety of counseling skills and interventions in my work with clients and tailor my approach to each person, but my primary focus is EMDR Therapy. I am certified in EMDR therapy by the EMDR Institute and I utilize EMDR to work on helping clients adapt to the present by removing the roadblocks of their past
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Early in my own journey I thought that going to counseling was a declaration of how broken I was, but it was actually a step of courage. It was a concrete statement that I am WORTHY of feeling and being better! I want you to know that YOU ARE WORTHY of feeling and being better too, and I am looking forward to helping you realize this.
