My Background and Approach
When we work together, my first priority is to really understand you, how you see yourself, what you long for, and what keeps getting in the way. My approach is grounded in Emotionally Focused Therapy, a compassionate, research-based method that helps people get to the heart of their emotions and patterns so they can create lasting change in relationships and within themselves. Every person and couple is unique, so I tailor our work to what you need most. I draw from attachment theory and occasionally integrate tools from other therapeutic approaches. My role is to help you feel seen, understood, and supported as we make sense of what’s happening beneath the surface, and to help you move toward greater connection, self-trust, and ease in your life.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are all just humans in the world doing the best we can with the tools and resources we've got. Including me! I won't pretend to have all the answers, but I can promise that you will be seen and heard when you come for therapy with me. My belief is that feeling seen and connected to others is what all of us need to thrive. I am a White cisgender female and an immigrant to the United States from Ireland. I welcome clients of all races, ethnicities, cultural and religious backgrounds, genders and sexual identities. My goal is to continue learning ways to be an ally and a source of support to minorities of any type so that every person can feel fully included, respected and accepted for who they are.
