About My Clients
I serve children age 7 and up, adolescents, and adults of all ages. I utilize an integrative approach of different therapeutic modalities based on the client's concerns and needs. I have special interest in attachment-related concerns with children and adults, OCD in children and adolescents, relationship and divorce/separation concerns, and borderline personality disorder.
My Background and Approach
I hold a bachelor's degree in music education from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN, and a master of science degree in clinical mental health counseling from the University of Mary in Bismarck, ND. Before I went back to school in my 40s, I was a Social Security Disability claims examiner and hearing officer, and I continue to enjoy working with individuals navigating the disability process. I am trained in Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, TheraPlay, Brainspotting, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
If you're looking for a compassionate, welcoming, accepting, and experienced counselor, you've come to the right place! I enjoy connecting with my clients on a personal level and meeting you where you are in life. I enjoy spending time with my grown children and my pets, cooking, hiking, and building Lego projects. I sing with the Fargo Moorhead Choral Artists.
