About My Clients
Hello! My name is Jeffrey Proctor and I am an LPC. Everyone wants to feel like they are valuable, and we are all valuable, however, it’s often hardest for us to see our own worth. It’s times like these that life often seems to have no purpose. Many factors can cause us to feel this way, including: trauma, negative relationships, inability to believe in our full potential, lack of support, and not having the tools to change. This can leave us feeling stuck. Let me help you get unstuck.
My Background and Approach
I have experience in counseling in a variety of contexts, working with a variety of clients and problems. I have worked in settings including outpatient psychiatric facilities, university counseling center, agency settings, and private practice. One of my specialties is working with Third Culture Kids. My focus also includes teens, parenting, ADHD and trauma
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am a practicing Christian and believes that God loves everybody. I believe that God is the most joyous being in the universe and wants people to come to Him instead of the judgmental God that is pictures in many Christian places. I am also a Third Culture Kid and was raised in Central America but have also had experience interacting with the Arab and Central Asian world. My transition to moving to the United States was very hard and I want to help other people with transitions to getting used to other culture's and even be able to figure out their identity. These experiences have taught me that people think in many ways and have helped me to be open to other people's beliefs no matter how weird it may seem. I have had the most clinical experience with teens and I believe that teens deserve to be heard so that they can be equipped to learn how to feel valued and learn how to solve their own problems in their life.
