My Background and Approach
I am Licensed Mental Health Counselor in New York whose passion is helping people heal from compulsive sexual behavior and unsatisfying relationship patterns. My approach is primarily psychodynamic and relational -- we explore what's driving your behaviors and how you've developed strategies in your relationships with others (and yourself) that may have protected you in the past but that now are obstacles to greater fulfillment. I also have training in transpersonal psychotherapy, which allows space for non-ordinary states of consciousness and a mindful/contemplative approach to exploring one's full being.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am sex-positive, kink-affirmative, and respect any individual's consensual sexual/romantic choices. Many people deal with stigmatization based on alternative relationship structures, LGBTQ-identity, or their exploration of power/pain in their sexual relationships. I am interested in helping clients embrace their desires and reduce shame and internalized negative messaging.
