About My Clients
Do you have what you set out to achieve in life, except that inner peace and contentment? Are you successful at work and in your social life, but just can’t seem to find satisfaction in your most important and closest relationships? Do you feel like something is missing in your life, and all the things you identify with don't help solve the issue? Let's find out together what's really going on so you can enjoy your life and relationships fully and with utmost integrity.
My Background and Approach
I have a MA in Counseling Psychology from The Seattle School of Theology and Psychology, a program intent on the therapist understanding their own story in order to help others "we can only help others as much as we've been willing to be helped." I need a lotta help and know it can be difficult to ask for help and receive it. I received my doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Argosy University Seattle, focusing my dissertation on the relationship between grief and self-compassion. I've worked with clients for 15 years in private practice from many walks of life from highly to barely functioning.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that to be alive is a profound gift and that life is full of hardships, difficulties and suffering as well as joy, grace, and love. Learning to hold both of these realities daily offers us a journey deeper into this one wild and precious life. I believe that all people everywhere, even the people we can not stand and the people who have harmed us, are welcome into the everlasting embrace of love that is as constant as gravity on Earth. When we can find love in our hearts for the most dreadful people in our lives, we are living out of a state of grace which transforms our pain rather than transmits it, and in the process of such we are transformed deeper into people of love and light to the world. And, importantly, that shit is hard! We can not do it alone. I serve at our local open and affirming Episcopal church and lead men's work at Illumanofwa.org
