About My Clients

Have you been bouncing from relationship to relationship repeating the same tired patterns over and over again? Do you feel like it’s impossible to find someone who’s a good match for you? You must be exhausted and burnt out on the dating scene. I get it. It’s bananas out there. Therapy can provide you insight into how to get out of this rut. I look forward to working together and helping you find clarity so that you can grow.

My Background and Approach

I have a masters degree in marriage and family therapy. I specialized in studying relationships and what makes them healthy and strong. For the past 15 years my work has focused on how people can feel more confident and worthy in relationships. At the start of therapy I will collect a full history on your family relationships and past romantic relationships. I will use this info to understand how your personality formed and what messages you received about being in close relationships through out your life. We will work together to find out what makes you feel comfortable and safe in relationships. We'll talk about how to communicate directly to your partner so that you can feel more confident in asking for your needs to be met. If appropriate I will invite your partner in for a few sessions so that we can be more direct about addressing problems and anxieties that crop up. While our talks can be vulnerable and emotional I will also add levity and humor to lighten things up a bit.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe everyone should have access to affordable and quality mental healthcare. And that is why I save 25% of my sessions for clients that can only pay $40 per session. I support organizations that fight against mental health stigma and access issues across all genders, ethnicities and sexual orientations. While I can not claim to be an expert on racial and systemic oppression, I can promise you that I study the issue on a regular basis and challenge myself to look outside of my old belief systems. I am sex positive and kink friendly and I welcome clients that want to explore this side of themselves. Politically, I am left leaning and progressive. However, if you're not, I won't judge you. Promise. I love going to see my Blazers play during basketball season. I play video games but I'm really only good at games that Mario stars in. I'm married. I have a dog named Josh. And I don't have kids or plan to have any.
