About My Clients
My clients are largely Queer, trans, non-binary and often neurodivergent. Some issues that my clients seek help with are trauma, anxiety (in particular social anxiety), ADHD and AuDHD. I love working with creative folks and folks who generally question systems of power and inequity.
My Background and Approach
I have worked in the mental health field for 25 years, and began private practice 7 years ago. My approach is highly collaborative. I am not inclined to offer advice, but instead am invested in helping you to unearth your own answers. I am trained in EMDR, which I have found to be quite helpful in treating trauma, but I don't have a one-size-fits-all approach to therapy. My work is tailored to your needs and your style. Our brains are strange and miraculous things; they change shape and function in response to trauma, and, fantastically, they can change shape and function as they heal. It's my goal to work together to find the best means for you to do this kind of healing so that you can find relief.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that no matter how confused we may feel, we can all find our way back to what is unique, creative and courageous in ourselves. These are challenging times. There is nothing maladjusted about feeling anxious or depressed in a world that does not feel equitable or safe. My goal is not to help you adjust to broken things; it is to build upon the strengths of your identity, your values and your truth so that you can feel a greater sense of agency.
