Depression
I have a strong background in serving clients who have struggled with depressive and anxious symptoms. Often negative emotions, thoughts, and bodily sensations may be rooted in trauma and/or stress that activates one's nervous system. With compassion and sensitivity, I help clients explore their thoughts, feelings, behaviors, and backgrounds to identify triggers. I empower clients with skills they can use in session and in everyday life to manage strong emotions.
Cultural and Systemic Oppression
With cultural humility and sensitivity, I offer a brave and supportive space for clients to share their experiences with oppression. I use a multidimensional and intersectional approach with a social justice framework in bearing witness to oppression and its effects. I also help clients acknowledge and celebrate ancestral strengths and resilience.
Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)
I used evidence-based treatments including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), CBT, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to treat traumatic stress. I also practice Brainspotting and other somatic (mind-body) techniques to help clients heal their nervous systems.
