About My Clients

I work with students and professionals who are brave and capable. They have dreams and ambitions. Many of them left their homeland because they craved a better future. To get to where they are today, they worked hard and made sacrifices. On the outside, many of my clients are bright, determined, and competent. However, beneath the surface, they may struggle with loneliness, sadness, or anxiety. If I am describing you, you are not alone, and I would be honored to support you.

My Background and Approach

As an Asian American immigrant therapist, I understand firsthand the challenges and pains one faces around acculturation and assimilation. I support first-generation immigrants and international students to explore issues around the home, belonging, and identity so that they can find ways to honor both their original culture and their new culture. I draw insight from Attachment, Psychodynamic, and Family System theories. That means I believe that your early experience, relationship with caregivers, and the family dynamic you grow up with continue to influence and shape your behaviors, feelings, and experience today. In our work, I will guild you towards understanding the roots of your pain and struggles so that healing can start to happen. That does NOT mean that we are going to point fingers at parents or family. We are here to understand how you have become the person you are today, and how you can move forward to become the person you truly are.
