About My Clients
Are you in emotional pain, anxious, stressed or confused? My approach is one that blends body, mind and spirit, engaging the whole person in the healing journey from contraction to the life of joy and ease you are seeking. My approach is to journey alongside you, witnessing, honoring and being with you, as we explore what changes you wish to make. I work primarily with women of all ages and orientations.
My Background and Approach
As a society, we don't seem to teach our young children about their mental and emotional health. This can leave us floundering as grown adults -- unhappy, stressed out, and overwhelmed, with no idea of how to cope and manage the ups and downs of our lives, our jobs, our relationships. Through my personal experiences and challenges as a woman, wife, mother, daughter, and friend, I decided mid-life that being a therapist was my calling. I delight in helping others sort out their best paths to happiness, using any combination of my academic training in brain science and coping skills to my psychological and spiritual explorations of life's joys and sorrows. I help my clients train their minds in the ways of greater peace and contentment, whether the original problem is depression, anxiety, parenting, relationships, or any of the other situations that life presents to us all.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe a client's culture, background, race, gender orientation, and sexuality all come into play during therapy. I am a BIPOC-affirming therapist and stand against all racism, including systemic racism. I am LGBTQIA+ ally. As someone whose immediate family includes people who are African-American, Korean-American, Vietnamese, gay, and bi-sexual, I am attuned to challenges faced by those who are under-represented in the U.S. and can work with you as a staunch ally.
