I work with adults of all ages, backgrounds, genders, and cultures. I will help you work through barriers of anxiety and depression, grief, trauma, and anything else that keeps you from the life you would like to have. We can work on day to day struggles or delve into your family background and relationships. I am here to help you develop the tools to reduce your symptoms and bring you to a place of peace and strength and belonging.
My Background and Approach
We can't change the way we were raised or the way we were hurt in the past. But we can take this moment to get help. I want to help you heal and look at your life with a new lens. Often, we think if we were just a little stronger or harder on ourselves, or more disciplined, we could get better on our own. I want to help you find the kind of voice and strength that is not critical or harsh, or meaner than we would ever be to another person. I want you to find your voice- that reminds you that you are enough. You have the tools within you to be enough. Together we can shine a little light on those dark places and move forward.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone is lovable no matter what they have done or had done to them. I believe that we can help people heal by giving them a space to talk about anything they need to talk about, and by helping them access the help they need. I have worked with men and women who had been living on the streets of New York and Washington D.C. for years, and seen them thrive when we did not give up on them and brought them into a caring, safe community. I believe that none of us can be truly happy if there are people around us who are hurting.
