About My Clients

I work best with adults in various life stages who want more than coping tools in their toolbox and are motivated to better understand the underlying roots of their anxiety, depression, trauma, etc. I enjoy helping my clients build insight and collaboratively working together to understand how their past experiences are impacting their current functioning. If you value having a safe space to delve into your sh*t, I can say with some confidence that we'll work well together.

My Background and Approach

I am all about looking at our humanness, in its beauty and messiness, without shame. I help clients notice different patterns that exist and have existed throughout their lives. This could range from self-criticism, anxiety that presents itself with various fears that others say is nonsensical, and/or being caught in certain patterns in relationships that are hard to break. All of these "symptoms" exist for a reason and have played an adaptive role in protecting you or externalizing something that you may not quite have the words for yet. As we explore together the root of the issues, such as identifying past experiences, and identify what your triggers may be, my clients notice that they have developed compassion for themselves and respond to themselves and others in a different way.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe in celebrating cultural differences; acknowledging shortcomings in one's own personal biases; and embracing identity regardless of gender, race, religion, and sexuality. I believe in ruptures and working through ruptures with repair, where we can both own our sh*t. This can't happen when the space and therapeutic relationship is not safe. Safety does not mean that it won't be uncomfortable. It definitely feels more grounding and stabling when you walk into the waters with a railing rather than without. I also love to have moments of laughter through humor. Therapy is hard and can be super painful, it's okay to have some space to laugh and be silly together in moments. I think that cats live the best life out of any animal in this world.
