About My Clients
I don’t really have an ideal client. I love a challenge and working to figure out the individual puzzle that each client presents. From children to adults, everyone has something wonderful about them and being able to be a part of bringing that out is something I am grateful for. Therapy can be tough at times especially when we are working to change thought and behavior patters but I can guarantee we will find ways to laugh and enjoy the process together.
My Background and Approach
I am a behavioral therapist pulling from cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavior therapy, motivational interviewing and strength based modalities. I have worked with learning disabilities, autism, substance use disorders, ADHD, anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. I am currently working on my trauma certificate and have worked with trauma in various settings through my decade long career. This can be scary as there is a misconception you have to relive the trauma, I will never expect that, we will focus on the coping strategies that helped you survive and how they are no longer serving you in a positive way. I am trained in “tapping” and have seen success with obsessive compulsive disorder and anxiety. I am trained on harm reduction techniques for addictive behaviors and have experienced much success working in co occurring facilities for about 7 years. I do give weekly challenges based on your growth goals.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that everyone deserves a voice and sometimes therapy can be the place to find that voice. Everyone has the capacity for change and growth. Therapy doesn’t have to be scary. It can be fun and engaging as we pair together as a team.
