About My Clients
Do you struggle with helping your child’s anxiety or anger that affects your family life or their school performance? Do you feel overwhelmed by your child’s symptoms and emotional challenges? Do you wonder how your child can feel better? Now more than ever, parents are feeling uncertain about their child’s mental health and how to help. I believe there are hopes and answers for parents.
My Background and Approach
I have both a Masters degree in counseling and a PhD in Developmental Psychology. I hold both a license to practice therapy in Colorado as well as am a Registered Play Therapist - Supervisor (TM). With these credentials, you know that you have someone trained and experienced working in the specialty area of children. Children are not just little adults and therefore need a specialized therapist to help process through play therapy rather than just play in the therapy session.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have volunteered with both the Alliance for Kids Early Childhood Council and Save the Children Action Network (SCAN) to help build a stronger Colorado Springs, Colorado, and the United States for all children. I believe that no one is ever done learning and therefore am a continued student in my field. I also am a mother and a woman. I have personally experienced the challenges of loved ones with anxiety or neurodivergence and have worked on my own anxiety symptoms over the years. When I experience anxiety symptoms, I refer to her as Gina, and I have learned how to boss her back over the years to take back control of my own life.
