About My Clients
My ideal client is someone who is struggling with something in life and needs some help overcoming it. This could be a current or past issue. This client is willing to be honest about their struggle, and be willing to put the work in to resolve it. There will be homework! A therapy session is great, but one hour a week is not enough to "fix" things. Application in real life is where the growth happens.
My Background and Approach
I have experience working with people struggling with stress, anxiety, depression, addiction issues, family issues, and more. I have a Master's degree in Marriage and Family therapy have worked with couples wanting to strengthen their marriages/relationships, heal from infidelity/betrayal, and when the relationship won't work out: healthy co-parenting. There are a number of approaches to therapy. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy is the "standard," which I use. However, some issues require more creative approaches, such as experiential. We will know when we start therapy the most beneficial approach. While exploring issues from the past can help resolve issues in the present, it is important to not just dwell in the past. I take the approach of improving the present now, while also working to resolve the issue from the past that may be having a negative
