Do you have difficulty understanding and expressing emotion? Are you experiencing a mental, financial, physical, emotional, or identity crisis? My Background and Approach
I follow an Person Centered, Existential, Humanistic, and Holistic approach to therapy, utilizing my experience with Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Art Therapy, and Music Therapy, and training in Emotion Focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), and Gottman Method Couples Therapy (Levels 1 and 2). I believe the purpose of counseling is to develop a collaborative relationship between the counselor and client to help a client realize and nurture their own potential. I hope to create an environment where the client feels safe sharing their thoughts, feelings, and beliefs. I respect the uniqueness and individuality of every client, their subjective experiences, and trust their capacity to make positive and constructive conscious choices.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Counseling is a journey of self-discovery and change. I am a guide on this journey to help you explore, achieve, and maintain change in your life. I focus on the whole person and use mindfulness, spirituality, art, and music to create wellness of the mind, body, and spirit. I believe meditation and artistic expression, such as music and drawing, help individuals cope with life challenges. I cherish the unique experiences and strengths of people and adapt my treatment to the unique needs of the individual. I believe we are unique parts in a global ensemble. We all have parts to play.
