Recent life changes have been a strain on your romantic relationship. You've tried everything you know but you're still drifting apart. You and your partner are open to working to improve your relationship. You're looking for ways to decrease conflict, increase friendship, and create a healthy relationship.
My Background and Approach
As a therapist, my role is to support you in making and maintaining the changes you want to see in your relationships. I use a variety of therapeutic orientations (Gottman method, cognitive behavioral, interpersonal psychotherapy, and family systems) to support couples and families with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practice. I’m a compassionate and supportive therapist and I approach my work with humor. I don’t hesitate to encourage my clients. I’m here to help. Often that means challenging you to act, speak, or think differently.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe wholeheartedly in people's ability to change and create the life they want for themselves, their relationship, and their families. Many families are doing the best they can with the resources they have at hand. The power of therapy is creating a safe and non-judgmental place to examine what's working and what's not working and develop solutions to address the concerns. The family is where we all begin and shapes our thoughts, values, and behaviors in ways that are helpful and not so helpful. My practice is a safe and affirming place for people of all ages, abilities, races, ethnicities, gender identities, sexual orientation, religious or belief systems, and family compositions.
