About My Clients
I love to meet clients where they are and feel comfortable working with a wide array of issues. That being said, while working through my internship I specialized in providing affirmative care for LGBTQIA+ clients and substance use treatment. I have a deep passion to help people through trauma and to foster confidence and self-love.
My Background and Approach
I received my Bachelor's from The University of Texas at Dallas, where I double majored in Psychology and Child Development. I got my Master's from Southern Methodist University where I specialized in affirmative counseling for LGBTQIA+ clients. I've worked at Resource Center, seeing members within the queer community, as well as a residential treatment center for adolescents struggling with substance use. I love to talk about the connect/disconnect between our minds, bodies, and brains and help people to have conversations between them. I believe that the client is the driver in the counseling relationship and they get to determine what type of counseling is going to be the most helpful for them. Art, writing, meditation, neuropsychology, talking, music. I want to learn the language you use to process and help you from where you're at.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community and I have a passion for educating people on gender diversity. As a whole, I strive to cultivate multicultural competency and lift up voices that are underrepresented.
