About My Clients
Many of the people I work with are thoughtful, capable adults who feel stuck in patterns that once made sense but no longer fit their lives. They may be navigating identity stress, painful past experiences, grief, or major life transitions. I have particular experience working with LGBTQ+ clients, veterans, and BIPOC folks, and I welcome anyone who wants a thoughtful space to better understand themselves and move toward a life that feels more aligned with their values.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed psychologist who uses evidence based approaches including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy. I am also trained in Prolonged Exposure and Cognitive Processing Therapy. In therapy we slow down and look carefully at how thoughts, emotions, relationships, and life experiences are shaping your current struggles. From there we build practical skills that help you respond differently and move toward the life you want to be living. My background includes working with a wide variety of clients in complex clinical settings. These experiences shaped my commitment to culturally responsive care and to creating a space where people can explore difficult experiences without judgment. Therapy with me is collaborative and thoughtful. My goal is not to “fix” you, but to help you understand yourself more clearly and make choices that align with your values.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe people make sense in the contexts they come from. Many of the patterns that cause pain today originally developed as ways of surviving difficult environments or experiences. Therapy can help us understand those patterns and decide what still serves you and what no longer does. I approach therapy with cultural humility and respect for the ways identity, community, and social context shape our lives. I always try to create a space where people can bring their full selves into the room. My role is not to judge your experiences or tell you who you should be. It is to help you think clearly about your life and move toward the things that matter most to you.
