About My Clients
Optimal wellness lives in the balance between seeking the courage required to confront the areas of our lives and aspects of ourselves that call for change and gathering the necessary wisdom and resilience to accept the parts of our existence and past experiences that cannot be altered. Even those of us who seem to have it all together on the outside often struggle on the inside. I guide clients through their pain and into a space where they can access their joy.
My Background and Approach
I believe every person has the ability and potential to overcome their life barriers, and together we'll identify the tools you need to reach your goals. By increasing their self-awareness, self-worth, and coping skills, my clients can meet their potential by uncovering their authentic selves. Establishing a trusting client-counselor relationship where you feel safe to identify, explore, and overcome barriers is a cornerstone of my practice. As a woman of African American and Hispanic descent, I approach the therapeutic relationship with acute sensitivity and respect for multi/cross-cultural factors. Much of my clinical experience includes working with women, children, and adults, given my firsthand experience navigating generational and cultural differences within my own family.
