About My Clients
Issues that I am especially skilled with are: the first generation experience (in school or professional life), parentification (role reversal where a child must act as a caretaker of their parent or siblings), anxiety, depression, work and career exploration, intergenerational trauma, and non-violent communication. I look forward to working with you on your path towards healing.
My Background and Approach
I hold a Bachelor's Degree in Ethnic Studies and have spent many years working in education and creating pathways to health access for immigrant communities. I know first-hand that finding the right therapist to work through life’s challenges can be hard; self-reflection and becoming vulnerable with a therapist can be even harder. I am a Licensed Marriage Family Therapist (#92237). As a bicultural, bilingual cis woman of Mexican American descent, who was also the first in my family to graduate from college and become a professional, my experiences inform my holistic approach to therapy. I use a client-centered and relational approach with an equity and social justice lens. I believe that we all have an innate capacity to change, grow, and build resiliency. For over a decade as a community mental health provider, I have worked with clients from across the lifespan such as children, college students and individuals from various backgrounds.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am committed to social issues such as environmental justice for communities of color . I am also involved in community cat spay and neuter efforts.
